Gokon Tekko Paper Sculpture

This is a cut paper sculpture that I made as a tribute piece to my favorite manga series BLEACH. This design is based on the Gokon Tekko on the bottom of Kisuke Urahara’s cane. Since I was working with paper I changed the stylization a bit, while still keeping it very simple and bold.

When working on these paper sculptures I like to start from sketches and then cut out all of the elements I will need. From there I work to assemble the pieces, thinking about depth and how to layer the objects to elevate the composition.
